More for your money?
Over the years, I've been called upon countless times to install heating and air conditioning units purchased online.  These purchases are normally made through online auction sites and at a good price but they're rarely, if ever, a good deal.
Most of these units turn out to be out-dated truck salvage or previously-owned refurbished units or worse yet - HUGE!  There are multiple reasons for not installing a mammoth five-ton unit in a well-insulated 1200 square foot house.

BIGGER IS NOT BETTER!  Installing a larger unit than needed will cool your living space too quickly, resulting in frequent on/off cycles that waste energy and causes unnecessary wear and tear on the compressor, fan motor and internal switches.  What's more, these brief running cycles super-cool the air but fail to properly dehumidify the air, leaving it cold, damp and clammy.

Air conditioners in your home make you comfortable by removing humidity. Your air conditioning unit must run long enough to dry and cool the air.  In order to do that, your air conditioner must be sized correctly. Too large a unit will not run long enough to
remove the proper humidity, while a too-small unit is unable to cool and dry enough moisture from the air.  Sizing is just as important when buying heating and air conditioning equipment as it is when you're shopping for clothing - you don't buy oversize trousers or huge dresses because they're cheap and you feel like you're getting more fabric for your money - do you?

There is another highly important issue that should be taken into consideration before purchasing heating and air conditioning equipment over the Internet.  For the most part, manufacturers do  not warranty units sold online Click here to read the exact policy written by one of America's foremost manufacturers of heating and air conditioning equipment.  A perfectly good ten-year warranty could be worthless!
